A lot of people want a Jacuzzi, but they have heard installation horror stories, and they are simply afraid to buy one. If you would like a Jacuzzi tub in your garden or backyard, then rest assured that the installation of these items is nowhere near as difficult as some of the stories make it seem to be.
Select the perfect location
Before you go and shop for a Jacuzzi you first want to look at the location you would like the tub to be installed in.
You want the following things in your location:
- A level area, or an area that will be easy to level.
- Easy to access so the delivery guys who bring the tub will have no difficulty using a cart and rolling the tub into position for you. If you have a fence around the area make sure that the gate is at least as wide as the tub you buy, or be prepared to take part of the fence down so the tub can be brought in.
- Pick a spot that does not have a lot of trees so you will not have to worry about a lot of leaf matter or debris from a tree contaminating your tub.
Make a secure place for the tub
Most of these types of tubs are either set on a level concrete surface or they can be placed on a wooden deck that has been properly reinforced to handle the weight of the tub + the water + the people that will be in the tub.
You must make sure that you have the right place for your tub to be installed. Make sure of the dimensions of your area before you shop for a tub so you will know that your tub will fit.
You are going to have to connect the tub to electricity for the jets and pumps to operate. Make sure that the location you have chosen provides easy access to an electric supply.
You cannot have a hot tub without water. You need to make sure that the water supply is easy to access, and if you build a pad for your tub, do not cover your water pipes with the concrete. If you ever were to have a leak you want to be able to access those water pipes.
